It had been about 45 years since I’ve had a cold glass of beer and a big plate of Herman’s potato salad. Potato salad that was refreshingly flavorful unlike the factory made potato salads you find in supermarket delis today. It’s so sad that individual delis like Herman’s and vintage bars with Hofbrau menus were driven out of the marketplace by big box supermarket delis and TGIF mass market appeal diners.
